Who we are and why this matters
My name is Justin Urich, and I'm the founder of Nearsight, a competitive intelligence and marketing platform for the vacation rental industry.
With over 16 years of experience, I've seen firsthand how the relationship between property owners and management companies can break down.
This study is part of our broader research into understanding the owner experience; more specifically, what goes wrong and why.
We'll use the insights from this research to:
- Understand common patterns in property management failures as it relates to the owner experience
- Inform our platform
- Help property owners make better-informed decisions about who they choose to manage their investment
- Provide actionable insights to property managers to improve their services
Who qualifies
We're looking for owners of vacation rental properties in prominent coastal markets who:
- Used a property management company that overpromised and underdelivered
- Have a recent experience (2022 or later)
- Ultimately switched to a different property manager or began self-managing
Priority markets include:
